Compatibility question about NIC

Hello I want to upgrade my fileserver/media server with a new old Fiber Card. So should I buy a switch to link all 8 PC toghter and spend a bunch of money for a 10gbit switch or buy 2 cheap Fiber cards for 60 bucks (IBM PMC PM8032) now my question is are the driver issues or anything else that would make it impossible to use them?
