HI guys, whenever I set my ram to 3000 mhz ( advertised speed) my pc goes into a boot cycle where it turns off and on over again for about 5-6 times until it boots into windows. My clock speed is set at 2133 mhz automatically since I got it and it will boot normally at that speed. Is this a problem? Also I haven't updates my bios yet just used it straight from Box

slowly try to ramp up the speed, not a ryzen expert but i've heard ryzen is picky about ram. (march/april news though, should be better)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

i'd update your bios version if you can, then try slowly upping the speed instead of just trying 3000 mhz flat out. The highest I've had my 3000 mhz ram is 2933 mhz

i'd check your bios version first before updating as it might already come with an updated version or at least updated enough to the point where ram stability started to get better on ryzen, if it's an up to date one then i wouldn't worry. Check on your motherboards manufacturers website as they should have more details about what's changed in between bios versions, if a difference with RAM overclocking is mention in the bios updates then go for it, if not just leave your bios how it is.
