Linus video merge

Hey, This is my first time on here. I've been watching Linus's videos for a few months now and love them. I've decided to try a build that is two of his videos in one. I want to try to build a super budget server but be able to use virtualization and have 4 computers coming off of it. maybe more. I'm wanting to go for a quad socket motherboard but was wondering, do I have to use Windows server if I go with a quad socket mobo? I am using virtualization and booting via LimeTech so will the computer think its just a normal computer and it has its 4 cores that its assigned to? or will it realize there's 4 physical sockets and throw a fit?

 

Thanks for the help. let me know if theres anything expected on this form. I'm just trying to get knowledge in a field I love.
