Good Quality Earbuds?

MiniLife
Go to solution Solved by Xhavalor,

Depends on what type of music you listen to.

If you like hip-hop, or all those electronically produced music genres, Monoprice 108320 with some slight extra effort.

Very cheap, but top of the line bass and crap (apparently).

If you like music with a balance of treble and bass (ie. acoustic, classical, folk), then yes: the S4i IIs are your best bet.

I'm looking for a new pair of earbuds but I honestly have no idea what to buy.

Any suggestions? Preferably less than $200

I love Skullcandy. Ink'd 2 are simply the best earbuds ever. And only $15!!! Some people complain that some earwax gets stuck in the little rubber part but if you stop getting grossed out it's fine. They fit perfectly. You can get multiple sizes of those rubber things. I have a size that fits me perfectly and I barely feel them. Amazing audio quality.

dont go for the s4i's unless you want a muddy, very powerful bass

also if you do decide on the s4i's got for the s4i II, then are much nicer built than the s4s, I've own both variations

I remember hearing the Apple earpods and having a great impession on them, better than the s4i's

Well, you might like them, but I have a pair, and here are my views on it: TOO MUCH BASS. SO MUCH BASS, IT'S RIDICULOUS. it ruins the sound in my opinion. it's just way too much.. The entire sound is muddy. And the highs- most hi-hat and snare sounds are sharp, harsh and almost make my ears bleed.

but they're cheap though. That's the only thing they have going for them, in my opinion.

Good god man, I can only assume you never tried better ones. I mean sure, for that price they work fine, if a little heavy on the bass (okay a lot heavy). If you spend twice that you get buds that are ten times better in audio delivery!

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Klipsch makes some of the worst headphones, period.
Bose blows, Shures $200 IEM is dicks, Senneheisers are really special, which leaves. Eytmotic and another company that I can't be bothered with remembering.

Yes, I'm sure you can get better audio quality, but these are fine for just listening to music. I use my Bose for gaming or when I'm on the computer. Thanks for your opinion.

I'm just pointing out calling them the "best earbuds ever" is a little bit off :P

Like I said, fine for the price and if you like bass heavy stuff.

  • 2 months later...

I like you am not into bass heavy buds or phones for that matter, I like flat buds/phones. I didn't audition anything over 125 so if you can consider 100 dollar buds I would go with the hifiman ones. I forget the model but they cost 100 on the site directly or on amazon. I tried a few pairs but the hifimans came out on top due to the sound plus comfort which is also important to me. I also tried shures and etymotics. both of those were also 99 bucks.
