It shouldn't be much of a problem if you have a dust filter on the fan intakes or clean the internals regularly, just don't drop any electronics on the carpet, because there is an ESD risk.

Well regular cleaning is a good idea anyway, but it should be fine so long as there's some airflow.

 

The real question here is why you thought it best to post this question in the sub-forum devoted to audio, rather than say, the cases section, or the new build section?
