Hey all,

I am currently looking to upgrade my gpu to something in the midrange.

I know my CPU (phenom ii x6 1045t) will bottleneck, but I am planning on upgrading it down the road into an ITX build.

I need a GPU that can push 4k, but can run games at 1440p windowed within a 4k monitor(i like to play windowed).

Needs to be future proof, and good for the value (like 980ti's cost 50% more than 980's).

So, is getting a 980ti/1070 worth the extra $100-200 dollars?

Edit: bought an used 980ti

I'm poor. How did I even make enough to get all of this.

Main build:

Intel i5-3570k, EVGA 980ti (reference), Gigabyte Z77-D3H, 4x8gb DDR3 (1 kit of Corsair, 1 kit of G.skill), Crucial M500 960gb SSD, Seagate 3tb HDD

Backup build:

AMD Phenom II X6 1045t (OC to 3.7ghz) + Cooler Master Hyper TX3, Asus Sabertooth 990FX, NVidia Quadro FX3800, 4x2gb DDR3, 240gb SanDisk Extreme SSD
