Hey guys, first time on this board.
I'm planning to upgrade my gaming pc, that i left untouched since 2012... I did just ordinary maintenance and it worked fine until now.
My aim is to play games in 1080p60fps at high/ultra settings, and right now i running at 30/45 on games such Dark souls 3, pubg (with very low settings), Fallout4 (more near 50fps)

My specs are:

CPU: intel i5-2500 (not k) , cooled by a schyte katana 3 (my stock cooler was defective so i had to change right on the spot)
Motherboard: MSI z77a-g43
Ram: 16 gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600mhz
Storage: 128gb ssd samsung evo 830 + 1tb wd blue
GPU: HD7950 3GB DirectCU II by asus
Case: aerocool X-warrior
PSU: xfx pro 550w
Monitor: sansung C27F390 27" 1080p (with freesync)

So my idea is to change the gpu, with a rx580 (i know it's really hard to get at a good price), and stay like that until the next upgrade (that will be cpu mobo etc... when they won't be enough).
The question is, will my cpu work well with the rx580? or it's just a waste  right now and i should upgrade everything?
Last but not least, should i care about freesync? or i should just give up and go with a more easy to find gtx1060?

thanks in advance!

A) what is your budget

B) would you just like to buy a new system (excpet case and storage)?

Yes need specifics to give specific answers

i could go up to 1000€ (i'm in eu), so i can afford a whole new pc, but i'll prefer to upgrade it. I already have a possible configuration (with the rx 580 too), but i wanna know if it's a bad idea to upgrade only the gpu right now.

I'd say its a better idea to go all in because a 580 on a i5 2500 system is great, but when that becomes too little in 3 years, you cannot reuse the 580 in a newer system.  Heres a list i've composed:

Why would you ever recommend the H60? An air cooler that costs the same would perform better

:)
