All right - here's a topic that's pretty common but I've searched through countless threads and tried so many different solutions and no luck.

so my rig is:

a78m-e35 mobo

sapphire Radeon r9 270x

*ahem* AMD Athlon 760k

1 Stick of ballistix 8GB RAM

cx 430 M psu, and a WD black 1tb hdd

parts are old, well used, but worked flawlessly together for 2 years running.  Up until about June of this year.  My PC started acting up with the usual powers on, no Boot up mess.

I removed the hard drive from the rig for about 2 weeks after the first hiccup, because due to no troubleshoot success, I assumed the mobo/ram was bad and didn't have the funds or means to purchase new parts to troubleshoot properly - so I wanted to keep the hard drive for a future rig I would put together, once I had income that I could effectively save up.

But I thought on a whim to try and place the hard drive back In the PC and power it up and... it booted!

Now I live in Maine, 1,400 miles from where I somehow "fixed" my problem and after trying to set my desktop up here, I notice it's doing the same thing.

I power up the PC, fan lights turn on, optical drive lights up, gpu/CPU cooling fans whir to life, and my USB keyboard/mouse light up.  Everything seems to be in working order, except for the display.  I have an HDMI cable securely connected into the gpu and my monitor, and I get nothing.  The monitor auto-powers off after 5 minutes of no input.  However I can charge my phone from the USBs, and open and close the optical drive.  So power is being circulated......

wondering ng if anyone can try to help me out with this issue?

Ive already completed RAM troubleshooting in that I placed the stick into a different slot, and I reset the CMOS by reseating the battery on the mobo.

I tried listening to beep codes without the RAM inserted but I never heard any.

Pretty stuck now, wondering if there's any possible way to get a fix on this?

Clear the Cmos on the motherboard. This happened to me when I gave my friend my old Mobo. Turn off all power, then Pull out the circular battery either located near the chipset or near the pci express slots. Touch the two pins located next to said battery with a screwdriver. Put battery back in and load up system again

Alright, thanks for the reply! I tried that out, it did..... something.  My monitor detected the pc for a bit, said the resolution didn't match and was resetting the resolution, then it looked like stopped detecting it and I rebooted and now it's stuck back at square one.
