hello,

the router of my internet provider is very very bad. it can barely reach upstairs with wifi. i get max 10/100 Mbit/sec download speed. so i need a switch to get some internet upstairs because all my ethernet ports are full on the router. which switch do you guys recommend? and should i buy cat5, 6 or 7? i need to get somewhere between 10-15 meters.

my ping is very high right now idk why. normally its around 20-30 with wifi. and my download speed is usually around 2 Mbit/sec.

this is the speed i'm getting when downstairs over wifi.

This would also do you good. I haven't personally used any of the Trendnet switches but either should be fine.

As for the cabling, You could spend the extra money on cat 6 but cat 5e should be fine for most people.

How do you plan on running the cable? In wall...etc?

What do you mean next to the power line? If you are talking about electrical power line that is not something you should do. You should try to keep CAT cabling as far away from electrical wires as possible. If you need to cross power lines that is fine but just not parallel. If the need be you could also go with a shielded CAT cable but it will cost more money.

powerline is a technology that allows ethernet signal to travel through the copper wires in your house's electrical.
