I'd like to build a desktop PC for around $200 CAD, preferably even slightly lower. I'm not afraid to buy second hand (even if I should be). I'd like a PC I can use for basically everything. I'd like to be able to run everything from my basic word editor to atom with a crap-ton of packages, to light games, to my editing/modelling software. It would be helpful to know whether this is even possible in my price range. I'd like to know what kind of processor and graphics card I should look for. I've found stuff like a thinkcentre with an i5-2400 for $110, but I'm new to this and don't know what exactly will run what I need.

for that kind of money, look for a 2nd/3rd-gen i5 prebuilt with at least 8gb of ram and the best GPU you can afford with the money left. see if you can find a 750ti.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
