Ya, that's probably why. At 144 fps it's really hard to notice tearing or stuttering.

 

Before I got this 240hz G-Sync monitor I was using a 60hz Samsung ultrawide with no adaptive sync and it just wan't a pleasant experience. It was either deal with tearing or have terrible input lag from V-Sync. G-Sync fixes all of this so even when games run at 60 or below it doesn't totally suck.

SLI 1080 Ti is worth it if you play games that support SLI and want to go balls deep in eye candy.

 

The saying that SLI "scales poorly" is not entirely correct. The vast majority of the time, if you're getting "poor scaling", what's happening is usually either a bottleneck or a render technique that's interfering with it.

 

Point in case, I was asked over on Reddit to benchmark Unigine Valley. The first test was done at 3440x1440, and it net 44% scaling. The second test was done at 3840x2160, which net an 84% increase in scaling.
