Hello,

My employer and I regularly use Micro SD cards in a DJI Zenmuse X3 and a Phantom 4 Pro. Sometimes the cards will be crazy slow for no apparent reason. This isn't caused by the card being full as it happens on empty recently formatted cards. We also always format them in exFAT. The cards have been from SanDisk and Samsung, all Class 10, UHS-1. I don't believe it's a bad sector problem either as this problem will come and go. I'm confused as to what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not all, infact almost no media, guarantees sustained write(edit: and read) speeds. Either heat or controller layout or other things can be limiting factors.

Yeah I was thinking it might be heat. I can't imagine it would be controller layout as the same card would have extremely variable performance throughout the day.

idk about SD cards but other things can have cashing functions that can yield high performance for the first few megabytes and then drop of significantly.

That doesn't sound like it's my issue. As there will be times where the slow down doesn't occur at all.
