RAM speed on Asus Prime X370 Pro

Hey guys! I would like to ask you what kit of ddr4 ram do you suggest? I would like a 16 gb kit of 2 modules. I would get a ryzen 1600 and an asus prime x370 pro. Thanks for your time!

Any decent kit with 3000/3200mhz ram will do. Gskill Flare X, Gskill TridentZ, Corsair LPX are all good modules to go with. Look for tight timings if you have the extra cash and CL14.

7800x3d - RTX 4090 FE - 64GB-6000C30 - 2x2TB 990 Pro - 4K 144HZ

So the TridentZ will work totally fine and i could reach them to 3000-3200 mhz?

C14 is better.

Generally the best kit is the Flare-X 3200MHz C14

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

Indeed, but outside benchmarks, in real life, would I see ant difference ?

CAS latency doesnt matter irl, but Flare-X uses B-die which is the most compatible with Ryzen

It's also the most expensive..with 40-50€ difference

TridentZ or vengeance lpx? What do you think?

So does TridentZ CL14. CL16 kits are a hit and miss with the b-die.

Basically the reason people recommend CL14 over 16 is because with tighter timings you will have a higher chance of hitting 3200mhz on Ryzen without requiring too much voltage.

Otherwise if lets say you run your Ryzen CPU at 4ghz requiring 1.4V to be stable, and you try to push your memory with sloppy timings to 3200mhz as well, you will put even more pressure on the core voltage and cause instability, meaning you have to run your kit at lower than advertised speeds (being a waste of money that way).

Does that make sense?

So are they worth the 40-50 more € ?

Depends. Do you have anything else you can spend the 50 euro on to boost performance? Such as an SSD, better gpu, ect... ?

If not, then yes they are worth it. People have had good results with CL16 too, don't get me wrong. However you are playing the lottery even more then with your CPU. You do plan to overclock the 1600 right?

Yeap. I'm going to oc it but with the stock cooler for now. I will build a pc from scratch and I don't want to spend more money..it will have a 1600, gtx 1080, Asus prime x370 pro and a 500 gb ssd. What Do you think? Can I save these 50€ for now?

Save your cash for now in that case, go for TridentZ or TridentZ RGB and enjoy your PC :)

Ehh, hard to say. 3000-3200 the fps difference you ll see with ryzen will be minimal, compared to difference between 2400mhz - 3200mhz.

CL14 3000 will be good too.

What did you get the memory to run at? I guess it would be 2933 is that seems to be the middle ground.

unfortunately 2133 is all that is. the screenshot below shows.

That is only the default memory profile, you need to enable XMP/DOCP just below it and see what it will run at. If that fails, go into the tweaker manually and set ram speed to 2933.
