I want to kill off the two TV cable boxes we pay for from Verizon (frontier) to save some cash. I plan on getting a Home Run Prime with a cable card and putting it in my room on my server rack.

However, I need to run a new coax cable to my room. At the moment there are only three coax locations in the house, 1-3 (in Red on diagram). I want to run a coax cable to my room (4 in red).

My question is right now the splitter is outside next to the FIOS ONT unit, with three cables to 1-3.

I was wondering if there was any benefit in running three new separate coax lines to my room with the splitter outside or can I get away with just running one coax cable to my room and having the splitter in my room?

I need a splitter because I also plan to move the router (Verizon's Modem / Router combo) to my room. The other two devices will be the Home Run Prime and another Home Run Prime down the road.

I plan to use Quad Shielded solid copper core coax straight to the ONT's coaxial port if that helps.

The other question I have is regarding running more CAT6 wire. I have previously run six cat6 wires, 1-6 (black).

I wanted to add another run of CAT6, marked by the blue #1 to have an access point in the living room to improve coverage in that area (right now the router is in bedroom 2 and the coverage is around 2-3 bars in the dining room)

I also plan to put an access point on top of my server rack, and disable the wireless in the Verizon router combo.

I think I just need a Ubiquiti switch and two Ubiquiti access points right?

Any feedback on where I should run more CAT6 / access points is helpful. I really want to just go in the attic once if possible. I already had a fun time running the previous 6 CAT wires...

Description of CAT6 (black):

1 - Internet to my switch

2 - Internet to my switch

3 - Switch to TV

4 - Switch to NUC

5 - Switch to TV

6 - Switch to NUC

1 (blue) - Switch to Access point in living room

Current Equipment:

Verizon (Frontier) Actiontec Wireless N Router / Modem combo

Netgear 8 port switch (On server rack)

Planned Equipment:

Ubiquiti UniFi Switch POe (24 port)...I wish I could get the 10Gb Ubiquiti switch, but too expensive for me at the moment.

Two Ubiquiti UniFi AC AP Pro access points

Home Run Prime with cable card (Potentially another Home Run Prime in the future)
