Having an issue with acronis true image home that i picked up on the sale here recently, been trying to search google and the FAQ page without luck. I have a hard drive im trying to image , there is only 60gb taken up on it , however when i try to copy the drive in acronis it takes up 150gb+ space and says that it runs out of room. Is there any way of making it to where the image is only what is on the drive itself, im sure theres a way just cant seem to find it yet. any links or help would be much appreciated

The 150GB space is the partition size that Acronis is attempting to clone. I presume you are moving from a hard drive to an SSD of smaller size. Acronis can do this however you will need to manually set the partition size to fit on your SSD and not automatic.

Lets take my drive as an example I have 91.5GB used space, and 20.2 GB of free space, the capacity of the drive 111GB.

Using the default settings in Acronis True Image Home, I will need a drive size of atleast 111GB to clone my drive and not a drive size of 91.5GB.

You may need to shrink your drive partition before attempting to clone your drive which maybe smaller than your current drive capacity.

hope this helps

i found out my error, i had one of the settings checked where it clones any data that was ever on that drive instead of what is currently on the drive, thats why my image was showing up as being 150gb instead of the 60gb i had on the drive, got it figured out. thanks for your help though much appreciated.
