Hi folks, if i beveled in ghost and demons i would probably think i have a demon in my computer :P

I'm completely lost , after fighting weird temperature issue with my i7-6700k , and using a dual 120mm fan radiator.

One problem that have been following me probably since i build my pc is that it reach 100c if i running a cpu stress test, and believe me i'v tried to down volt my cpu whit no luck, re seat my block, re apply thermal paste. etc etc

But seriously it would be silly if i had to manually adjust my bios , because my stock settings would floor the temps no matter what if i'm for example rendering a video witch seems to be a good candidate for cpu stress and health test.

The first and early symptom i had is insane cpu temp spikes, in some cases it could in less than a second be 70c and all the suddenly 35c in less in a second, witch sounds excellent but as far as i know, water cooling should make the temps slowly rise and lower as time goes on.

the second and the strangest issue i got right now is, if a game for an half and hour my cpu temps goes to 99c, and if i shut down the game, and makes my cpu idle, it got stuck at 81 c, and it wont go down, even if my fans, with all power, running at 2000 rpm.

However, if i let the fans spin for a little while, turn off my computer for 2-3 min, then turn it back on, enter the bios after it complain about too hot cpu, then i wait a little and continue to my OS, guess what.. my cpu is back to 32c.

Its like my sensors think my cpu is hot, but it isnt really, since after reboot, my cpu crawls back to normal, but only after reboot, else its just got stuck at 81-80c.

1. I'm assuming it's windows stealing 100% of the CPU for a couple of seconds to ping a Microsoft server do you have a new windows update? It only does that if you have a continual load on the CPU. Spikes will spike and continual will slowly heat up.

2. Weird. Don't have an explination (it's a ghost)

PS; don't stress test with AVX (so, prime95) On any CPU that supports it, it will raise the temps to unreasonable stupidly high temps.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

1. i agree with windows can really crank the temps for a few sec, but my gosh, sometimes i feel like my software monitor just trolling me, AI suite with bundled with my motherboard an Asus Rog maximus hero viii have 10c lower than for example msi afterburner and realtemp, and sometimes the quite opposite.
And yes i'v learned that prime95 makes unrealistic load, but video rendering should be realistic, and its easily makes my cpu 100c after 1 min, as far as msi after burner says.

Maybe the CPU Temps sensors have gone bad? Have you tried another morherboard?

No, i don't have another motherboard that can fit my block.

But one tough catch my mind.
I do have my AIO water pump connected to a molex , but can power manager control my psu ? so whats really going on is, when its want to sleep mode my hard drives or other accessories, my water pump got turned off as well, since the molex cable share some of the lines with my other hard drivers..

This is a wild guess, but can someone maybe give me any information if that could happen or not.

It is 100% normal for everything to get off, it's called hybrid sleep which it is hibernation+sleep in case o a power surge. If you wish to disable that go to power options and select your power plan and click advanced settings and disable hybrid sleep on sleep settings

Oh sorry, i wasn't talking about hybrid sleep, i'm talking about when individual parts like forexample harddrives goes to sleep mode, but not your computer itself.

No you can't control your PSU on power manager but you can turn off and on devices to save power or just for turning it off

So, i should connect my pump to its own line whiteout any interfering, that might cause the psu to turn the water pump off?
