Hello

Im looking for a motherboard to overclock a 3570k around $100. This is my build so far http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MFJm

Im planning on using the antec gx700 so it needs to fit into that case.

Also, Id like to be able to use crossfire if i ever get a new graphics card, and I will probably buy an SSD.

Thank you for all of the help.

Out of the options you listed the p8z77-v was the cheapest. The first one with crossfire was $120 which isnt too bad. here's a link

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Will this one work? Im not going to push the overclocking too much, but I do want to get as much power out of the 3570k as I can fairly safely.

I would like this build to last about 8-10 years (with occasional upgrades)

Thanks for the help

EFFF! Just hit Ctrl A Backspace~!

Here we go again...Short mode. I mean the Regular P8Z77-V, not the cheaper LK version. The LK has a poor Power Phase Design.

I have a question. How far do you intend on OCing, have you OC'd before and what board were you looking at before I suggested anything?

Well this is my first build so I've never OCd before

I'd like to overclock a decent amount, but not if I have to spend $200 on a motherboard.

If that's not possible then that's fine.

I have no idea what motherboard to buy.

While the hardware might physically last 8-10 years, anything you build now is going to be slow as crap by then :P

Perfectly understandable.

I'm sure you'll be fine with any Z77 board then.

Oh wait, I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138355&Tpk=TZ77XE3&IsVirtualParent=1 I hope you're going for an orange theme!

Either that, the Extreme4 or the P8Z77-V LK. I really hope someone else comes around with more suggestions near your price range...

I overclocked my i7 2700K to 4.7 Ghz with a $110 MSI P67-GD55. You could get the newer Z77-GD55 which is $125.

I've heard good things about Biostar! Such an under-rated company. But, that's why you find sick deals on their boards versus ASUS or Gigabyte. Just remember they're all made in the same sweat-shop in China, Foxconn. So, whatever your choice, be aware that the only real differences are design and components. Japanese capacitors, etc. Don't worry about reviews that needed RMAs, always look at the overall quality and run with it. You won't go wrong!

If yiou have never over-clocked before or built a computer then i would suggest just build a fast computer and leave it as stock speeds.

review some of Linus's videos on overclocking and choose a motherboard wisely if you intend to overclock components.

got to love Asus components

Don't worry, I'm not going to overclock very much'just what I can do easily. I might overclock more after a few years and my processor Is old. I want my motherboard to be future proof, so I don't have to buy a new one if I buy a second graphics card or want to overclock
