Download speed is not the bottleneck when syncing. The Litecoin blockchain is only a few GB's the problem is that you need to download and verify the blocks sequentially which takes time. There are upcoming changes which will allow faster syncing by only getting block headers and downloading the full blocks in the background later, but until then syncing is slow.

Right now it downloads 1 block. Checks and verify it's correct and matches the consensus of the network. Then proceeds to download the next blocks. Repeat this about 470000 times until it's fully synced.

There is an option to bootstrap where you download a majority of the blockchain from an archived format and it can cut the total syncing time down a fair bit. https://litecoin.info/Bootstrap.dat

It's easier to just let it finish syncing.

You're trying to mine with GPU settings on a CPU, change the drop down box on the left side to the GPU, not the CPU.

Also, I see you're blocking out your password, make sure you are not using a "real" password. It should be kept as an x or something non meaningful or unique. The worker name and password get sent as plain text. It's not a big issue, but if someone is packet sniffing they will get the your password.

Folding is extremely intensive and will render your computer unusable.

You can lower the intensity a little bit down to 19 or 18 which might make it more stable. You should be able to achieve a hashrate of about 630K/hash. Your thread concurrency is might be too high, your core/mem clocks, For Litecoin mining you usually need a ratio between the two, not a max overclock.

Try 8192 thread concurrency and slowly increase it until you find the max that it works.

Shares are what you're solving. The pool sends you work, you submit them completed as shares. Watch for stales, rejects, or hardware errors. Those are signs of instability or poor settings.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

If you look up various 7950's here, you can try some of the settings and clock speeds others have had success with.
