Need a Wireless PCIE card for a PC running Windows 10.  I'm moving my computer from my home entertainment center where my combination modem/router is located and I need a reliable wireless connection to the router that will only be about 10-15 feet away.  What's quality? What isn't?  What's important to know?  Thanks in advance!

You're not asking for a specific product recommendation, but I thought I'd include one. I have been using the TP-Link AC1900 for the past two years and it has been incredibly reliable. You can pick up the AC1900 for $66.00 or the AC1300 for $48.67.

With these cards, you generally want to look for dual band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac support with multiple visible antennas that protrude out of your case.

Make sure to quote me or use @PorkishPig to notify me that you replied!

if it's only 10-15 feet, perhaps you should consider picking up a longer Ethernet cable. If you can route it out of sight, then you can save a lot and have better performance than wireless.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to run an Ethernet cable to the new location so I have to go wireless.

Good to know.  Think I'll pick up the AC1300.  I've done a little independent research.  There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there, but I know 802.11ac is the newest standard and that my particular network uses that standard and includes a 5G connection option.  So the AC1300 looks like it fits the bill.
