Steam disk write error

Hello 

I just installed a hdd for mass storage in my pc and when i try installing steam games on it i get a disk write error message. Please help

Defrag you HDD and completely erase the game from the drive. Then start over.

i have the same issue with all games. Do the same with all of them?

Just realised it's a new drive you're using so I doubt that would help. My bad.

Need more detail. Are you installing these games onto your new drive? Did you have a drive in the PC previously (I presume you did) and you're installing onto that?

My main boot drive is an m.2 and the drive i just installed is out of my old pc. I am installing my games on the hdd.

I tried uninstalling steam and installing all my games on the hdd instead of having them split between two drives. Didn't work

Maybe try a defrag and check for any drive errors? Since it's not a brand new drive, and as you say out of your old PC.
