soooo i super suck at overclocking ram (never bothered to really learn it), I usually just set the xmp profile for what speed the ram is labeled and running to usually it works. I have some corsair ram that runs at 2333 and i added another 2 sticks of (shit) ram one is gskill 1600mhz and the other is hynix 1600Mhz. So by default all my ram should run at 1600MHz ot aleast 1333mhz but it does not, my motherboard auto set the speed to 667mhz ive tried manually inputing 1333/1600/800 and kept the timings on auto (cause idk what im doing) and all of those have resulted in potato mode/ cmos reset

667MHz means it's running at 1333MHz. XMP should make it 800MHz, DDR stands for Double* Data Rate, so you have to multiply the reported frequency by 2.

 

This is what CPU-Z reports on my laptop at work: 8iH0F9y.png it means the RAM is running at 1330MHz currently.

Well shit I thought ddr3 stood for dance dance revolution 3, my whole world has just been flipped
