what cpu to buy?

i am going to be upgrading from am3+ relatively soon snd im just wondering what people with more knowledge about this stuff could help me decide what i should get. i have around £400, maybe a little bit more if i really push it.

if i have done my research correctly i can get either a ryzen 5 1600 or a i5 7600k for about the same price (including mobo, ram and windows)

the system would be use mostly for gaming but would have some video editing, music production and general college work done on the side.

so my question is, ryzen 5 1600 or i5 7600k?

 

also does anyone know are reliable places to get cheap windows keys, so that i could maybe have a bit more to spend on the cpu or ram?
