Optane Question

So I have 2 drives, my C Drive (HHD - 500 GB - Boot Drive - The one I want to use optane with), and my D Drive (Steam games, videos, etc.). 

 

If I were to purchase an Intel Optane stick, would I have to wipe my C Drive? I've read some things about needing to reformat the drive to GPT, but couldn't find an answer for drives with pre-existing data

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when it came out.

EDIT:
Motherboard (Strix Z270H) Does support optane.

You don't need optane just get regular ssd

If your HDD is on MBR you can convert to GPT(and vice versa) using AOMEI Partition Assistant, without losing data then clone it to Optane stick.
