apart from taking up more space, there arent really any draw backs. You might need to turn your fans up a bit. the thicker the radiator, the greater the surface area, the better the cooling. thicker rads= better cooling, higher over clocks (if you can achieve it), and better performance.

I plan to use an 80mm thick radiator in the front of my 350d with NF-12s in push/pull. Then a 60mm 240 in the roof. And if I can squeeze it in, a thin 120 in the rear of the case.

I may be wrong but that 120 mm radiator will probably just add clutter and expense at no tangible benefit.

If you are referring to the Alphacool monsta, be aware that there is a 3 mm shell on either side of the 80mm core so the actual radiator thickness is 86 mm. I know a lot of people who found this out the hard way!

So I'm trying to decide if I should use a 80mm thick radiator or a 60mm. What is the advantage of using a thicker radiator? And are they any draw backs beside the radiator taking up more space in the case.

you are not going to be able to fit a 60mm in the roof, you know?

motherboard/case wont let you.

Yes! I don't know why I couldn't find that! That is the plan for my build. Gonna move my SSD behind the MOBO tray and move my mass storage to an external drive. Basically only have back ups on my mass storage drive because I like my programs to open as fast as possible.

But then comes the question, where will the res and the pump go? I'm considering an external res/pump. Any opinions about this?

What if I run a dual 120 slim radiator and add another single 120 slim radiator in the rear to make up for the lost surface area? Or is it not worth it to have the single 120?

keep it on 30mm in the roof and 60/80 in the intake.. i never found adding those

single fan radiators to be beneficial enough to warranty the cost and add more

points of failure.
