7970 Ghz Edition. If it's for purely gaming, get that. However, if, as the CPU suggests, you're going to be doing alot of CAD and other graphically intensive work, it may be an option to go with the 670 or even 680 to take advantage of the CUDA cores.

7970 unless you plan to use software that can use Cuda cores for better performance.

If you're waiting for 700 series, then it may just be an idea to spend smaller now; say a 7770, or a 650Ti Boost, and buy bigger and better when 700 release? A 7970 won't become redundant once 700 series / 8000 series are released.

CAD applications utilize OpenCL, the 7970 will accelerate CAD applications.

If you are waiting for the 700 series, save your money and get a 7950 or 660Ti, depending on which company you like. The 650Ti Boost is also a good option if you want to save more monye.

HD 7870 Tahiti LE offers slightly better performance than the 660Ti for 60$ less, the HD 7950 is more comparable to the 670 in terms of performance.

Any ghz edition 7970 will be fine, Gigabyte windforce, Asus direct ciu, Sapphire.

they all preform pretty equally, then you have premium cards f if you really need it. ( Asus matrix, MSI 7970 lightning)
