Would it be safe?

Billy_Mays

Would running my 770 on a 6 pin and a 8 pin damage the card at all, I know this sounds stupid but I'm looking to upgrade my PSU and cooling system since I don't want to order a cooling bracket for my M9A for AM4 so I went with a AM4 compatible cooler, the PSU I've chosen is the Seasonic M12ll 520 I know I have plenty of wattage to spare with my system because it can run on my EVGA 450BV so will it be safe for my 770 be running on a 6+8 pin connectors or no I shouldn't

i dont think it would, the 2 extra pins that differ a 8-pin from a 6-pin are 2 extra ground cables, so if your PSU can handle it, it shouldnt be a problem

here you can see one adapter i used myself for powering my 970, so it shouldnt be a problem for your card either

Ok I just didn't want to ruin my really good 770 (I got it for $30 USD saying it wasn't working)
