Hi guys,

I just have a quick question. I was wondering if the the r9 290 could support 3 displays (all 1080p all dvi) off of one card (I think i remember linus said it could but I can't remember), and if it can how does it work, as in how would I do so with the cables and the outputs. Would I need a display port adapter for just 3 monitors? Thanks for the help. And this is my first time here so if I posted this in the wrong place I apologize.

Yes, and which ever connection you want/ easiest for you

I.E if your 290 has 3 mini display ports get 3 adapters DVI > Mini display and go ahead.

But let's say it is the current reference card and has 2 DVI, one HDMI, and one display port, is it able to use the two DVI for two monitors and then use the HDMI with an adapter to DVI for the thrid monitor? Or does it have to use the display port with a hub?

My understanding is that the new R9s do not requier a DP so the HDMI to DVI should work just fine. Unless your monitors runs higher then 1080p/60hz
