For the last 3 days I've been experiencing a lock up every day, where the sound gets stuck and loops. The PC restarted itself once, but the other 2 times it just stuck until I held down the power button to shut it off. I ran a memory diagnostic and that came back fine, my graphics card and PSU are less than a year old so I'd assume (and hope) it has nothing to do with them. My motherboard and CPU are probably around 5 years old. I have had issues before with 'incorrect boot device' and disk checks and the PC just refusing to boot into the hard drive on it's own, forcing me to manually select the boot device from the bios every time. This was not the fault of the hard drive however, as I tried 2 different drives and even an SSD. I haven't had this happen for a long time, but the issues I'm having now reminded me of it, pointing me towards the motherboard being dodgy.

Any ideas? Cheers.
