Budget 4K TV recommendations

TacoSenpai

Pretty soon I'll be looking to invest in a somewhat budget option for a 4K TV to replace my 10 year old 43" 720p Panasonic (I love it and its served me well but 4k seems affordable now and the thing tends to put off quite a bit of heat from the back).  By budget I mean around $500 or less.  I've been looking around in stores primarily Best Buy and I've seen relatively good deals like a 55" Toshiba for $429, a 50" Insignia with Roku built in for $400 and a 50" Hisense with HDR for $500.  I even saw a really budget option in Target and Amazon for a TLC 4K smart tv for $350 although I've never heard of that brand.

Now my knowledge regarding 4K TVs and the brand names is not the best.  I've heard that supposedly Samsung and LG make the best displays with Sony close behind though as expected they fetch a pretty penny outside of that I know next to nothing about any of the other brands as for which ones to avoid or go for.  From what I'm told HDR does help quite a bit with the picture and I'm inclined to get one provided I can afford it.  I don't particularly care about the whole smart tv thing since I already have a separate Roku Premier and my PS4 for all my streaming and TV needs.  I primarily game with things like Breathe of the Wild or Smash 4 with the occasional game of Uncharted or Final Fantasy and watch anime so I don't know if different kinds of 4K TVs are better suited for that vs others.  Any info is appreciated.

I have the UK version of this model:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-UN40MU6300-40-Inch-Ultra/dp/B06XGVQYQZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1501530912&sr=1-1&keywords=samsung+mu6300

It works great and has a great picture, brilliant 4k gaming and for a tv has excellent input lag (mine is around 15ms). Additionally, it supports HDR10 and has all the bells and whistles I need. You can get more information from rtings but I feel they have been a little critical in parts of their review as I have had a great experience with this:

Sorry I added some more information as well, take a look at my original post. If you have any other questions about it let me know. It is really easy to calibrate as well.
