I have built a few computers for other people in the past few months, and one small pet peeve of mine is that I have to create an account for them when I install windows, update various drivers and install some basic programs (most commonly GeForce), and when I hand over the new build, the user doesn't get to personally name their computer or set it up as if it were new and booting for the first time.

Is there any way to either pre-install programs and drivers, or install programs and drivers then reset Windows to create a fresh account?

Not a huge problem, I just wonder how manufactures do it.

Look up Windows OOB (out-of-box) experience. It will tell you how to go into windows and install drivers and other programs without creating an account and letting them do it :)

I believe they bake it into the actual windows img file, which is how their recovery media aslo restores any "bloatware" you uninstall. Windows 10 is a lot more forgiving in changing account/pc names than older versions used to be.

Nah, it took me a while to first find out about it myself since it's not very well advertised or talked about.

It's pretty nice though, get to add in all the drivers and look even more awesome when you deliver the system :D

I just searched for "install drivers windows 10 without creating account" but I can't remember when I searched for when I originally stumbled upon it.

It's not the first result and you can miss it if you're not paying attention since it's the only result on the first page that actually addresses the question, lol :)

@Lurick Now can you delete an account you've already made and rollback to using this method, or is it that you have to start with this method?

I think if you reboot into oobe then you should be able to install drivers and delete the user account but I can't say for sure as I've never tried that myself.
