Once it is initialised, you may need to assign it a partition(s). To do that, right click on the "Unallocated" section to the right of the drive (the box with a black bar across it) and select "New Simple Volume". From there, a setup wizard should pop up and you follow the steps there. Most of them can be left at default unless you have some specific requirements. If it doesn't get a drive letter during that process, you can right click again and change/set the drive letter.
