RAM ordeal

So my computer was water damaged about a week ago, I wanted to know if it would be a bad idea to put my 8gb ddr3 ram stick into a new computer to see if it works. Im new to computers though, so what am i going to look for when i boot my new computer and add that old stick of ram? Can something bad happen to my cpu? Cpu i5-4460 -

can you provide more details. where did the water actually fall on your system

did it fall directly onto your motherboard?

and was your system powered on when the water made contact? what happened after?

if its dry it won't be an issue - if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work, try each stick individually before trying them as a pair
