Im new to computers though, so what am i going to look for when i boot my new computer and add that old stick of ram? Can something bad happen to my cpu? Cpu i5-4460 -

if its dry it won't be an issue - if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work, try each stick individually before trying them as a pair
