Questions for upgrading

With the upcoming launch of Destiny 2, I'm going to be upgrading my cpu from a fx8320 to an i5 7500 (also changing my motherboard and ram). question though. Will I have to reformat my hard drive and re install windows or will I just be able to hook up the hard drive and use it like normal?

That's pretty much what I was going to get you. Maybe you can find a super cheap motherboard, and see how the prices are when you "unbundle" the CPU and motherboard.

IMO it's not worth going $50 over budget for a Ryzen 7. Ryzen 5 is already pretty powerful.
