Keyboards just for for coding?

Hey everyone,

I am currently on the hunt for a new keyboard which will solely be used for coding. I currently use a K800 from Logotech as I prefer low profile keys.

Preference (not required unless specified)

  • Wireless
  • QWERTY (Required)
  • good quality (Required)
  • Low profile
  • Illuminated (Required)

I love the CODE Keyboard, but sadly does not support any ISO layouts or ship outside the US. (codekeyboards.com)

Like I said, it will be used soly for coding, do not take how well it performs in games into considerations at all.

Additional
What type of keyboards do you prefer? And why?
Please do leave a reply, I would love to know more about which great keyboards there is out there for coding.

Thank you!

I need a wrist rest I'm lazy and tired.

I wonder if they have a Mini B wireless module to full USB. I'm sold.

Just go for a nice Ducky keyboard. I don't think you'll find a mechanical keyboard that's wireless.

they do look interesting! I will give them a more thorough at lunch!

Thanks

Edit: I should probably just have edited my previous post and added this one to it. sorry about that.

I use the K740 to both game and code. I like that it is relatively silent. I had a few days where i thought i should get a different keyboard but i just can't find anything better, the silence and "feel" of the keys outweigh it's shortcomings for me.

That is exactly how I feel about my K800, but It is just too wide. I would like to not have the numpad on there, that would be perfect size for me. This is the reason I am looking, but I love the "laptop" keyboard feel when coding :).

Yes I have thought about a mac, but I have a macbook air (which I love!) but it won't do for my stationary at home... yet anyway.

I use a Ducky Shine 3 for coding for the Uni, and it's perfect, I have green backlit one with brown switches, and it's awesome.

Though I really liked laptop keyboards, as soon as I switched for mech, I didn't want to go back.

Hope this helped,

Greetings.

I feel the same, really like laptop keyboards but I hear a of programmers say they switched to mechanical keyboards and loved it. I never liked mechanical keyboards but to be fair it was from back when the only keyboards you got was the once that came with the PC.

Guess I will try a Ducky keyboard!

Cheers :)
