Wait for 7740, get 7700k, or get new ryzen

Hell, even Sandy Bridge competes today.

Yup.  If I put my old 2700k at it's max overclock (5.1GHz) against Ryzen at it's max overclock in gaming, I bet the results would be surprising.

My graphics scores with my 1080ti and 2700k in Firestrike and Timespy were 31023 and 10725.  I am not sure any Ryzen chip has scored higher with a 1080ti...and that is only running PCIe 2.0.

What If you would leave it at stock clock speeds? Simular to an i7 3770 stock. Would you see and performance drop or bottlenecking? A 5.1 GHz is quite a boost. Just asking cause my old 3770 bottlenecked my 1070 like crazy, and you have a 1080 ti.

Probably...but I don't know.  I have not run the chip at less than 4.8GHz since the day I bought it.  Honestly, running a chip at a speed much lower than you are able to keep stable and cool seems like a waste to me.
