Acceptable backlight bleeding.

So I have here a ASUS PB278q and I was playing around with it and making sure my backlight bleeding wasn't too bad (Monitor is less than week old) and did notice some bleed but I don't know whats acceptable or not. Maybe from pictures you tell me whether its ok or not. Picture 1 is 100% brighness, and picture 2 is at 35% which is what I typically have it set at.

im picky...and i think thats pretty bad

when i returned my Dell all i had to do was say "there's some backlight bleeding and slight crosshatching"

the rep then asked "will you please check again"

i told him "just check (not really :P) and its still prominent"

he then sent me a replacement within two days.

not sure if itll be the same with Asus but iwas a breeze so its worth a shot

lemme get a side by side comparison

the one on the left is "defective"

the one on the right isnt much better but the colors are 10x cleaner

okay interesting. I guess I will contact ASUS tomorrow and see what they say about. I don't really want to send mini back and risk getting a worse monitor. Thanks for the information.

the way the Dell returns work is you contact a rep. they verify your problem. send you a new monitor within 2 business days. when you get the new monitor you pack the old one it the new ones box and attach a prepaid shipping label. then send it back.

never without a monitor

never spending a dime.

this is why i always suggest buying a Dell monitor. no hassle.

Was going to get a dell but the more latency put me off plus I found the asus at a brick and mortar store only now they don't have any so I can't take it back to them. That and the dell was going to take 3 weeks before it left Texas.
