Hey all,

I recently bought myself a rugged case for my Google Pixel and I love how seemingly invulnerable it feels. I want to do the same for my Asus laptop now, but I'm having difficulty finding products that support what I have, so I thought I pick the community for some answers.

My laptop is an Asus N550JV that I always carry around and have out in places like coffee shops, busses, trains, etc... and I want something that can give it scratch protection for the aluminum surface and some shock absorption. That why I can ditch the vinyl sleeve I currently keep it in when its not in use and it wont slip out of my lap because of how slick its aluminum shell is.

Pretty sure there isn't a laptop case for most laptops *ahem* Panasonic Toughbook *ahem* only thing you could do is get a couple fake strech Armstrongs and tape em to your laptop

I personally use something like this from Thule great to carry around and have it in the soft shell when in use. Your laptop is fairly thin so it should fit but double check the size as always.

That looks promising, though I have ventilation concerns since the fan exhaust vent is where the hinge is. I'm hoping to find something like UAG or an OtterBox.

It's alright if it's at the hinge and exhaust up in front of the screen my laptop did that same thing without any issues with heat but it did have front edge intakes which probably helped. If your has bottom intakes you may want to take it out when doing more intensive tasks.

If you want something that doesn't look like a briefcase (and doesn't weigh as much as one either), you can try:

https://www.amazon.com/SLAPPA-Laptop-Sleeve-Shoulder-Strap/dp/B01LW6979J/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1501178558&sr=8-30&keywords=Slappa

The slappa one I bought cost more and didn't come with the shoulder strap.  When I found the link that was cheaper and came WITH the shoulder strap, I contacted Amazon, and they actually refunded my money so i could buy the shoulder strap separately:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ERH5T2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(so don't buy the sleeve by itself without the shoulder strap).

Does that sound like something you would want?
