I want to start off by saying I've received no help or input with this build. All my choices were made with minimal research/knowledge. The goal was an over-the-top/more-than-I-need setup for a grand entry into the "non-$800-laptop" PC gaming world.

So I know certain choices were unnecessary but frankly I don't care. I'm just looking for feedback on what seems like could work better while sticking at the same price.

Anywho, here's the build:

Total: about $2100USD

Now, I completely understand the cooling for the GPU and CPU are a bit overkill. Do I care though? No.

In terms of case setup I was thinking having the GPUs radiator venting out the front and the CPUs radiator venting out the top with the intake from the back via the single Noctua which is why I tried to go for a high CFM option. Will it be loud? Yes. Once again, do I care? Not really.

So, thoughts, opinions, recommendations, etc. are GREATLY appreciated as there is the potential of this becoming a real thing.

Thanks again for all your time!

(Note: If there's a way to attach links to sets of words, sorry. My first real time using this site and don't really know how to do much.)

Why X299? It's got a bunch of issues, and Ryzen has gotten much better through the latest AGESA update, so I'd say it's a better option. And if you're only gaming, then the 7700K is still better than the X299 CPUs. Also, with that CPU, you'll only be able to use half your RAM slots and PCIe slots. You need an i9 for full use of the mobo.

The thing is I don't really have the intention of ever utilizing all 8 RAM slots as the way I see it I won't really need to until I'd have the money/need to buy an I9 anyways.

And again I doubt I'll need all those PCIe slots until I get around to upgrading to an i9 anyways.

Also from all the benchmarks and whatnot that I've seen the 7740X when overclocked is basically just a 5% better version of the 7700K.

I have the money to spare and really just went "why the hell not".
