am1 mining

hey guys, I'm kind of at a loss, I wanted to build a low budget miner so i thought to myself...whats cheaper then those little am1 chips and boards. I picked up a 3850 and a gigabyte am1m-s2h for a total of like $40 got everything downloaded, hooked up the risers and cards and nothing. so I plugged a gpu directly into the motherboard and it worked, shut it down replaced it with a riser and nothing again. I plugged the gpu back into the motherboard and tried to use the last pcie 1x slot for a second card using a riser and it would recognize it. Not sure if it matters but I'm using a r9 390x and trying to get an rx460 to play along with it.

 

I'm not sure if maybe there is a bios setting to change or what but if someone could give me a hand that would be awesome!

 

side note all the risers do work I tried them on a different board and they worked
