RS880PM-AM CPU support

Apparently this mobo supports FX CPUs and it does I'm going to flip shit because I will be able to get my system up and running for about $290 snow pesos so is this true that I can update the bios to support FX CPUs because I know that AM3 and AM3+ have a difference of one pin and I don't want to mess up my FX 6300

I'm f*cking done I had this for a while didn't google it to see if it can support AM3+ CPUs now I need to find what BIOS and if I need to update it I will try to

It'll probs need a BIOS update. Though if you're not sure ifs it supports the FX CPU, just be careful. If it doesn't pop in easily (Zero Insertion Force), then it's the wrong socket or a pin is bent, either of which you want to force.

I'm going to check right now for it my FX 6300 can fit

Try booting it, you may not need an update if it supports FX already.

It boots into the BIOS and shows that the FX 6300 shows up

Awesome! SO you should be good to go, though I'd still check for a BIOS update since it's an old board.

Nothing really. BIOS updates just fix issues and such, so if you have problems, try that. I'm an update freak though (it's only with immense willpower that I stopped myself from installing the iOS 11 beta), so I'd update it asap. You can brick the mobo if you do it wrong though, so perhaps it's a case of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"?

And when i try to boot it beeps 1 time that's it and it's on a AMI bios so it's the ram

It doesn't like the RAM? can you try swapping slots or DIMMs?

I had this problem with the old CPU also
