Ryzen Mobo Bios

Hello. I recently purchase a Ryzen 5 1600 and MSI B350M Mortar Arctic.

If found out that my Bios isn't the latest and i've read that updating the BIOS helps Ryzen perform better.

Now I am using the MSI Live Update, but it doesnt show the BIOS option. It only shows drivers.

Does that mean that Live Update isnt compatible with my mobo and I have to install the BIOS updates manually?

 

And one more question which is pretty dumb.. I can download the latest BIOS version and flash it directly right? Without going through the other BIOS versions.

Live update should have it look in the upper right corner there is an arrow if you click it then you will scroll over and the bios update should be revealed I would flash within the bios from a usb though those software options are wonky.

copy the new BIOS onto a flash drive and use the utility baked into the mobo's BIOS.

Did you get your bios updated?

 

I'm having an issue where I can view the flash drive, but can't view or select the bios file.

MSI x370 Gaming Pro.

There is probly a specific port you have to use

 

when you downloaded the file did u extract it with winraw or something like that because it won't read a zip folder

Yes it was updated successfully. Try to reformat your flash drive just to be sure. And reextract the file. Once extracted just copy all the files inside the extracted folder directly to the flash drive.

NTFS or fat32 for the format type?
