Mechanical mouse

i just got curious. how does it feel like to use a mechanical mouse(one that has a ball inside instead of a sensor)? how does it compare to today's modern mice? well, i personally used one when i was younger but that's about it.. i never used it for gaming and such.. i wanted to know how these mice would fare in gaming.. haha
