So on my laptop my HDMI port is fried and I need to connect multiple HDMI monitors, will this hub work with mini displayport and multiple dell monitors?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015J8QWR2/

Monitors

  1. DELL UP3017 Res: 2560x1600
  2. DELL P2317H
  3. Maybe LG 34UM68-P 34-Inch 21:9

All three of those monitors have DisplayPort. Why you need HDMI?

So on my laptop my HDMI port is fried...... I think is why, and they probably already have all the rest of the cabling in hdmi flavors. No sense replacing all the cables.

You will need to check with the specific oem hardware capabilities of your video system. I have a surface pro4, and while the onboard video TECHNICALLY supports 3 monitors via a mst hub, it does not support 3 monitors via mst a mst hub while attached to the surface4 dock. I do not know why. With the surface dock, you can only attach 2 monitors reliably. I had to go USB3-HDMI for the third monitor.

Another thing to consider is that you may need active display port to hdmi converters for the monitors, and not passive adapters when going from display port to HDMI.

The best success Ive had with MST hubs as been from startech.

Lets play connect the dots!

I already have HDMI cables and they are already in cable management system. Plus that also I prefer HDMI over DP, I find that dell monitors work better on HDMI than DP for me.

My laptop is the asus GL502vs db71

GTX 1070 and it has pushed 3 monitors before. I think the mDP port is 1.2 ...according to my UP3017
