how do you guys think this will hold up with 4k gaming?

my previous build had an 6600k in it which you guys told me was terrible, this seems like a better one?

Do you only play games and no editing? if not go with i7. i7 is still better in gaming only compared to ryzen.

ryzen 5 is great in performance/$ but spending more to get i7 would increase gaming performance.

a bunch of other people on my other thread told me that going with a ryzen 1600 would be better than an i7 and ''cheaper''. these kind of conversations is exactly what makes it confusing

for 4k gaming there isn't much difference between running ryzen and an i7, as most of the work is on the GPU at that resolution. I'd stick with the Ryzen choice.

 

 

How much is the psu going to cost? there isn't a price for it (or do you already own that?)

I also personally wouldnt bother with an nvme SSD

that is a ryzen 7 1700 tho, while in my selection i have a ryzen 5 1600x, you have a chart for that as well? @RKRiley

Really isnt much difference, games cant utilize the full 12 threads of a 1600x, let alone the 16 of the 1700's. So near enough exactly the same as the 1700.

that was pretty much the one chart i was looking for.

the ryzen 5 seems like a much better value and stronger than the 6600k, and also now against the 7700k and r7 1700.
