I was just wondering how this card performs and how "future proof" it is. Is it worth a buy? Anyone on the forum have the card and have any thoughts on it? Thanks!

I did a little more research and there is a block for the card im looking at but i would still like to hear some of the opinions of the other members of the forum

i have the sapphire model of the hd 7950 but i would say this is really worth your money, also you can get a good overclocking so yeah pretty future proof.

I have a 7950 from XFX except mines has dual fans and is a black edition. I haven't played with the overclocking at all so I can't really help you with that. So far, from the games that I play (Dota 2, Battlefield 3, SimCity), the 7950 has been more than enough. As for future proofing, it's hard to say and it really depends on the games you intend to play. If you want to play all the latest games at max settings, I'd say maybe a year or two, three might be pushing it. However, if you don't mind playing high or medium in the future, this card would definitely last way beyond three years.

I haven't gotten much into water cooling either, so I can't really give you input on the water block you picked out. ><

I don't own a XFX 7950 but I can tell you it's a nice card. My MSI 7950 puts out good frames at 1440p with settings maxed.
