Steam WILL NOT OPEN.... please help

It launches in the background but doesn't ever show up

and it uses 28%- 40% of my cpu

 

I have  uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times...

 

 I have used task manager to end the process every time...

Rebooted my pc about 20 times...

 

PLEASE HELP ME

Can you go to the task bar, far right corner, and find it's icon and double click it? It should open it.

Hmmm. When you uninstall it, is there any option to remove config files and such?

1. Try scanning your pc for a virus

2. Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 or 7.

3. Run as Administrator?

no, it just uninstalls everything in the steam file

Otherwise what RGProductions said is right, just go ahead and reinstall windows.

It sounds like it might be a windows issue if you've tried all those other methods. You can try an SFC scan, make sure your windows is up-to-date, or reinstall windows

Then find the steam folder in your app files, and delete it, and any other vestiges of Steam you can find. Then use CCleaner to back up and clean the registry.

there's no Client Registry file

You've reinstalled steam right? It should be there.

it isn't there..... would it be in the main steam folder?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam is the directory I found it in.

hmmm.... I'm going to copy my steam install from another PC over to this PC (which has the clientregistry folder  )

Open Task Manager. Ctrl + Shift + Esc

Go to processes.

Press "s". 

Find any Steam services and end them, preferably behind the barn so the kids don't see.

Also, out of curiousity, are you using multiple panels or have you tried Shift + Win + Left/Right Arrow?
