I found these 2 WD red hdd's, which apparently are different.  One is labeled as a nas drive, but I thought all WD red drives are meant for nas raid storage.

Are there any notable differences, other than price?

They're the same drive, only one is OEM and without the retail packaging. They're both originally $149.99, the retail one is only cheaper because it's on a better sale right now, so go for that one.

EDIT: It also seems like WD is changing some of its marketing for the retail and business markets. On the drives with retail packaging, they seem to be moving away from the Red, Blue, Black etc. naming and are instead using their intended purpose such as NAS (Red) and Everyday (Blue), I guess to make it clearer to consumers which drive to pick. All of the WD Blues I've bought recently have "Everyday" on the box, with "WD Blue" in the corner.

Make sure you either set the head park to 300 or disable it to get the best longevity of the drive.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.
