So I was wondering how exactly windows 2 go works as far as activation goes?

I installed Windows 2 go on my USB3 external 2tb HDD and it appears windows is activated but will that change if I plug it into a different computer? I have a spare desktop that doesn't have a hard drive and I was gonna use my external drive in one of the USB3 ports on the back.

You won't be able to use the to-go license and your "original" license at the same time though. It's literally, TO GO. not to only pay for 1 license but use it on 2 computers at once.

So what's the point of using this exactly?

On the windows 2 go faq it says you're supposed to be able to work on other computers but it requires more than one key.

The point of me doing this is to have a machine/boot disk that I can use to help trouble shoot a clients PC with hard drive issues, if I need a new key every time I plug my windows 2 go installation into a different computer what exactly is the point?

Scenario:

I have a Desktop PC at home. Too big to carry around. I have a business trip to go on, but I still want access to "my things" stored on desktop. I use Windows to go, and carry it on a USB flash drive. When I travel to a different state I can plug this flash drive in a public computer either in a library or hotel and now have access to my things.

That is windows to go. If you have many clients that you need to troubleshoot, you may be better off with a laptop, or you could use live linux USBs.
