Help with Musescore

I found a score and would like to change its trumpet to a custom instrument, is there any way I can? I mean like making a custom instrument and then putting the trumpet's notes on it.

If you simply mean changing the instrument voicing the part, then you should be able to add a new instrument to the score (the one you want to play the part), then copy the part from the trumpet line to the new instrument. There may be a better way to do this but it's beena few years since i last used sibelius, and i don't know how musescore compares, if it's clever you might be able to click on the instrument label and change the instrument there but that's me guessing at the UI.

 

Note that the trumpet is usually in B flat, so a tone down from what's written, so watch out for what instrument you're changing it to if it needs further transposing or not.
