Hi everyone,

Sometimes I see people having an AIO cooler installed on their GPU. I was wondering how does this work? and what are the positive things about it?

Is it possible to do it on my gpu? MSi armor gtx 1070? and how much will it cost?

Thanks!

Do you put a normal AIO (for cpu) on a GPU?

Yes you take like a H60 and the NZXT G12 bracket and that's it. Not the prettiest but performance will be much better and quieter.

you attach an AIO on the GPU die + VRAM stacks, then have a blower or some other fan cooling the VRMs, mosfets, etc.

for pascal, not that much. an AIO obviously reduces temps, which boosts effectiveness of gpu boost 3.0, but not much else. it doesn't extend the overclock ceiling.

first you'll have to check whether your PCB is reference. or to save some headaches ask MSI. i think they have their own AIO kit for DIY adventurers for their cards

I know the PCB of the Gtx 1070 MSI armor (the one I got) is not a reference design... :(
